  • First, water travels through a 20" sediment cartridge that removes sediment, silt, sand and dirt. Also this extends the life of water softeners and water filters, and prevents damage to control valves or pumps.
  • Next, water travels through a 1.5 or 2.0 cubic foot media tank with an Automatic Microprocessor Control valve. (The longer amount of time that the water is in contact with the media, the more effective is the conditioning and filtering of the water.)
  • Finally, water travels through a 20" solid carbon cartridge for a final conditioning of the water and removing any remaining contaminates and VOC's which may be in the water.
CRYSTAL QUEST® Whole House Iron and Hydrogen Sulfide water filters: Simple, User friendly, easy to program, dependable, fully shipped with filtration media already in the tank. WE DO NOT ship filtration media separately for our customers to pour in. The system connects to the main line of your home and filters all the incoming water to it. CRYSTAL QUEST®  Whole House IRON AND HYDROGEN SULFIDE Water Filters uses media formulated from glauconite green sand; effectively removes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) usually found in water. The system is installed in the main water line. When the raw water enters the iron filter, it passes down through the filter media and get oxygenated. The oxygen causes precipitation of the minerals and any iron, manganese or hydrogen sulfide present in your water supply is trapped, resulting in a clean filtered water flow to your household. The filter media is periodically regenerated automatically, backwashing the trapped minerals into the drain and regenerated by replacing the oxygen. This is done by introducing potassium permanganate into the media. The system comes with the a Potassium Permanganate container. With proper installation, it removes the following contaminants, resulting in healthier water:

  • 15 ppm of both ferric (oxidized) and ferrous (clear) iron

  • 05 ppm of Hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor)

  • 10 ppm of manganese

Note: These systems are designed for water supplies with Ph between 6.6 and 8.8. If your water supply have a pH of 6.5 or less, you need to neutralize the Ph before it passes through the system.

If these elements remain in your water system, they can damage fixtures and appliances and cause staining of clothes and surfaces. A water softener alone is not capable of removing these contaminants unless they are present in very low levels.
CRYSTAL QUEST®  IRON AND HYDROGEN SULFIDE Water Filter effectively removes Oxidized and Soluble iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) from water through oxidation and filtration. Backwashing and regeneration with potassium permanganate solution restores the media bed. It can remove up to 15 ppm of iron, and 5 ppm hydrogen sulfide. It can operate in a pH range of 6.2 to 8.8, and does not have a TDS requirement.
