Order by 3:00 PM Eastern on a business day and most filters, cartridges and smaller items leave our facility that same day. Standard residential systems ship within 1 to 2 business days, and whole house, custom and specialty systems typically within 3. So far in 2026, 95% of our orders have shipped within one business day and 99% within five (based on an internal review of our order records).

Once shipped, standard delivery typically arrives in 3 days to the Southeast, Northeast and Southwest, and in 4 days to the Midwest and the West. Need it sooner? UPS 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air are available at checkout for eligible products. Systems that ship by freight can take longer and may need a delivery appointment.

30-day returns

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery when:

  • The item is new and unused, in its original packaging, with no damaged or missing parts.
  • You ask us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before you send it back.
  • You pay for return shipping. Shipping, handling and restocking fees apply.

Filter cartridges, membranes, reverse osmosis systems, custom or special orders and commercial products cannot be returned.

De-Ionizer is a mixed bed of ion exchange media to strip ions and lower conductivity, resistant in-conductivity of water in addition to de-mineralizing & lowering the sensitivity of the water.

Why it is not intended for drinking use

De-Ionizer makes technical water, not drinking water.

  • The minerals are gone. Tap water can contribute calcium and magnesium to your daily intake. Deionized water contributes almost none.
  • It is "hungry" water. With nearly every ion removed and little buffering left, deionized water is easily contaminated and can corrode many of the materials it touches, and its pH drifts lower once it meets air.
  • It does not make water safe. Deionization does not remove bacteria or particles and does little for most organic chemicals.
  • It is technical water. Deionized water is used in laboratory and medical water systems, and for rinsing, process and spot-free work. Crystal Quest makes no drinking water treatment claim for this media.
