The Alkalizing Water Pitcher Cartridge is the alkaline pitcher replacement filter for the Crystal Quest Water Pitcher Filter System. It is a specialty cartridge with one published purpose: to enhance the alkalinity of the water you pour. Drop it into the same pitcher you use with our other cartridges and every refill comes out with added alkalinity.

What you are looking at

A slim pitcher cartridge with mesh inlet screens on top, filled with media designed to enhance alkalinity. It presses into the bottom of the pitcher's reservoir and seals, so the water you pour into the top passes through the media before it reaches the pitcher below.

How an alkalizing pitcher cartridge works

Alkalinity, explained

Alkalinity is water's capacity to neutralize acid. In everyday water it comes mostly from dissolved carbonate and bicarbonate. Alkalinity and pH are related but not the same thing: pH is a snapshot of how acidic or basic water is right now, while alkalinity is the reserve that resists change. Water with more alkalinity holds its pH more steadily.

Why a pitcher suits it

A pitcher filters by gravity, so water moves through the cartridge slowly and spends time in contact with the media on every pass. That steady contact is how the cartridge adds alkalinity to each refill without pumps, power or plumbing.

What it reduces

Primary targets: none listed. This specialty cartridge is designed to enhance the alkalinity of filtered water, not to reduce contaminants.

Not designed to treat: chlorine, VOCs, THMs or heavy metals, and it is not for water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. When you want the pitcher's chlorine, VOC, THM and heavy metal reduction, use the Standard/SMART Water Pitcher Cartridge.

The pitcher holds one cartridge at a time: choose this one for alkalinity, or the Standard/SMART cartridge for multi-contaminant filtration. Want both at once?
