How to choose your setup

Match daily production, stored reserve and delivery to your household.

  1. Size for daily use. Allow for busy days, guests and colder feedwater. Check the system size guide
  2. Choose your reserve. The tank supplies busy periods while the RO refills it. Choose for peak use, available space and refill time. Compare storage tanks
  3. Complete the setup. Confirm the RO pump and any post-filtration. Tank kits include a separate delivery pump for your taps.

Installation & water checks

  • Water: test TDS, hardness and iron. Feedwater over 2,000 ppm TDS calls for a brackish RO system. Hardness over 15 grains per gallon or iron needs treatment ahead of RO.
  • Space: allow for the system, tank and service access. Measure door openings.
  • Utilities: plan for a drain, adequate feed flow and power. Standard power is 110V; 220V is available on request.
  • Upkeep: review the prefilters and membranes listed under Parts & Components.

Which system size do I need?

GPD is the water your system makes in 24 hours; see each size per hour and per minute. Start with the people in your home, then check actual water use.

PeopleSuggested starting range
1 to 2300 to 1,000 GPD
3 to 41,500 to 4,000 GPD
5 to 7 or more4,000 to 7,000 GPD

300 GPD suits low daily use with favorable feedwater conditions. Choose higher output for colder water, frequent guests or heavier use. These are starting points, not guaranteed household capacities.

Choose the system and tank together

The system replenishes daily use; stored water covers busy periods. A larger tank adds reserve, but does not increase daily production.

By bathrooms

BathroomsPublished range
1 to 1.5200 to 300 GPD
1 to 4500 to 2,500 GPD
5 or more4,000 to 7,000 GPD

The product description's reference; sizes here start at 300 GPD. Bathrooms show possible simultaneous use, people show daily use: check both against your fixtures and habits.

Water conditions

Rated output uses 77°F feedwater; colder water reduces production and slows tank refill. The tank's delivery pump supplies your taps, so RO production is not tap flow. Over 2,000 ppm TDS? Explore brackish RO systems.

Configuration, Standalone

Which tank fits?

All three tanks work with any RO size here. Choose the reserve and footprint that suit your home.

Continuous run time from empty at 1800 GPD

Estimates assume rated output with no water use. Feedwater quality and temperature affect refill time. For faster refill, choose a higher-GPD system.

Tank kits include float switches and a delivery pump. Standalone is the RO system only, without a tank kit. Usable reserve is below tank volume because of the low float cutoff.

Measure door openings. Extra shipping charges may apply to the 500-gallon tank.

Pump, Brass Rotary

Which pump do I need?

This pump operates the RO system, including standalone setups. A storage tank kit has a separate delivery pump for your taps.

  • Standard

    Brass rotary vane

The standard pump for 300 to 2,500 GPD systems.

  • Upgrade

    Stainless steel rotary vane

Consider this upgrade for high-TDS feedwater or upstream chemical dosing, including antiscalant.

  • Automatic

    1.5 HP horizontal pump

For 4,000 to 7,000 GPD systems, selected automatically at those sizes.

Standard power is 110V; 220V is available on request. Need a replacement? Browse pumps and confirm your model before ordering.

What’s included?

Every system is tested in-house before it ships and arrives operational, needing only minimal plumbing. The membranes come pre-loaded, and a user's manual, the system's own test results and a filter housing wrench come with it.

With a storage tank kit you also get the atmospheric storage tank, the delivery pump that supplies your home from the tank, and the float switches that turn the system on and off.

Included & installation

Included cartridges

  1. Set the system on a level floor and secure it so it cannot vibrate or move; a rubber mat under it helps.
  2. Before start-up, check that no plumbing or electrical connection came loose in shipping.
  3. Connect the feed water line to the inlet solenoid valve next to the pre-filter housings, and keep a smooth, steady supply of feed water.
  4. Connect the purified water line to the storage tank or point of use with no back pressure, using plumbing suited to purified water: RO water runs 1 to 2 pH points lower than the feed and can attack copper pipe.
  5. Run the concentrate line to a drain with no restriction or back pressure.
  6. Check that the power supply matches the system and has a protective earth ground. We recommend a licensed electrician wire it to local and national electrical codes.
  7. With a storage tank kit, install the float switch in the tank and connect it to the system's tank level connections. These are dry contacts: never apply power to them.
  8. Purge the system with the purified water line sent to drain until no bubbles show in the concentrate flow meter. The settings differ by size, so follow the manual for yours: 500 to 2,500 GPD purge with the power on and the concentrate valve half open; 300, 400 and 4,000 to 7,000 GPD purge with the power off, the concentrate valve fully open, the pump bypass valve closed and the solenoid valve's bypass lever offset.
  9. On 300, 400 and 4,000 to 7,000 GPD, also flush to drain for about 15 minutes with the concentrate valve fully open, then reopen the pump bypass valve and return the solenoid bypass lever before the power goes on.
  10. Start the system and set the concentrate valve, and the pump bypass valve where your size has one, for the rated flow and pressure. Never exceed the pressure rating of the membrane housings.
  11. Check for leaks. After one hour, shut the system down, send the purified water back to the tank or point of use, and turn the system back on.
  12. Record the readings daily for the first week, then once a week.

Remineralizer System

In order to provide the best quality of water for our customers, we are offering an optional add-on to our whole house reverse osmosis system. This specially designed unit, based on your Gallons Per Day (GPD) consumption, adds essential minerals back into your purified water and adjusts its pH to prevent any potential damage to plumbing/fixtures and ensure healthier and tastier consumption. The table below gives an overview of our remineralizer system options suitable for different consumption needs and preferences for water alkalinity.

300 - 2500 GPD Single Big Blue Alkalizer/Remineralizer
4000 - 5000 GPD Remineralizer System (1.5 cubic feet)
7000 GPD Remineralizer System (2.0 cubic feet)

(Customers wanting highly alkaline water have the option to use a larger remineralizer system than recommended.)

Pure reverse osmosis water contains no minerals and can sometimes be slightly acidic. Water with a pH below 6.4 is not recommended for human or livestock consumption. The use of a remineralizer as a post treatment will enhance the pH and alkalinity of the water and avoid potential damage to plumbing/fixtures caused by acidic water.

Highly alkaline water may have a taste that us unpleasant to some. This taste can be described as a plastic, metallic, chlorine or fish like taste.
